What makes a Missoni garment special and absolutely unique? Its recognizability: the textures of the Missoni sweaters are an explosion of colors and geometries that for more than 50 years have been driving fashion addicted around the world crazy. Here’s where to buy Missoni garments at affordable outlet prices: in Varese there are two, in Sumirago and in Golasecca, plus there are outlets in the shopping centers of Mendrisio and Vicolungo.

Missoni sweaters are characterized by a style that the Americans have baptized “put togheter”, that is, mixtilinear and point-like decorations of refined chromatic variations, which have received the acclaim not only from the most authoritative fashion magazines, but also from professionals of the art world (in homage to Missoni’s art, an exhibition was held some time ago in Sesto Calende).
Founders of the well-known Italian maison are Ottavio Missoni and Rosita Jelmini: Ottavio Missoni, originally from Ragusa in Dalmatia, has always linked his passion for colors to the bond with his land of origin. Rosita Jelmini, his wife, was instead born in Golasecca in the province of Varese.
Varese is therefore part of the Missoni legend, not only because Rosita was born in our province, but because the first two knitwear workshops were founded here, in Gallarate (1953) and in Sumirago (1969). Those iconic garments that still get applause on all the catwalks of the world start from the Varese area.
