Germignaga: beaches and parks

Germignaga: beaches and parks

Today let’s talk of Germignaga: the village near Luino has many beaches, gardens and modern infrastructure in order to increase tourism and leisure.

Germignaga is a small town of just over 3 thousand inhabitants located near the mouth of the river Tresa. This river and the river San Giovanni, which starts from the hills of Bedero to flow also in the lake Maggiore, delimit the most characteristic landscapes: the three parks on the lake (Boschetto, Serenelle and Boschettino), the  church of San Rocco, with Baroque façade very scenic at theen d of the main straight road Cadorna, and the Church of St. John the Baptist, that in the Middle Ages was part of a castle and even now has a Romanesque bell tower in good condition.
In these years, local administration is trying to re-start the economy by focusing on tourism.
All recent, and much appreciated, it is in fact the realization of the Park of Fontanelle, connected by a modern bridge at the Grove Park, with an area equipped for camper. The Camper area of Germignaga was awarded the title of “best rest area for all of North Italy” by APC ANFIA (National Association of Manufacturers of Camper) because it has modern equipment, it is safe for video surveillance systems and above all it has  a magnificent view of the lake.
Also to restore the former heliotherapy, a building built in the ’30s, they are finding the funds through a collaborative project with the Consortium Lakes.
Another bonus of Germignaga is restored bathing water park of Boschettino.
For those who prefer the calm of the reeds and the shady willow trees on shore, other public beaches located along Via Bodmer.
